If you’re looking at my page, then you are probably struggling in some way. Maybe your relationships are difficult, or your self-talk is negative, or you’re having trouble functioning or reaching your potential. Maybe you’re just feeling anxious or depressed or you can’t focus or cope. Maybe it’s chronic pain or insomnia that’s limiting you. Let’s address the issues that are keeping you from feeling safe and confident and productive and together we can find ways to change and grow.
I take a problem-solving approach in therapy and work with clients to overcome their obstacles using coping strategies and developing new perspectives. To do this, I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Insight-Oriented Therapy. My office can be a safe place to explore the roots of your obstacles and to get support in rewriting your story.
I want to be a partner in the process, and will make suggestions or ask tough questions when needed. Change can be scary, but you don’t have to face things alone. As your therapist, I can be a support person and a guide as you address your obstacles.
As we do the hard work, sometimes humor can make things a little easier. It can help couples move past blame and help individuals break out of frustration.
It’s true… I’m not perfect. But I have found a way to embrace the imperfections in myself and in my life. I feel that the balance between positive and negative is what makes life more meaningful and people more beautiful.
As I said, change is scary and growth is hard. But we will both be frustrated if you’re not ready to start that journey in therapy. I work best with people who are willing to try new things and new perspectives and who are open to suggestions. If you’re ready to make a commitment to therapy, then give me a call.
I do talk therapy which means we sit across from each other and talk. This can be quite challenging for a young child and I don’t do play therapy, so I’m not a good fit for younger kids. I love working with anybody (individuals, couples, or even families) who is ready to move forward in their life!
