I am on my second career as a helping professional, but I have been in the social work field since 2007. I encourage the vulnerability and messiness of being human by holding space for my clients just as they are. My clients know I am also up for using humor to connect because the topics we cover are serious enough. I am warm, gentle, and accepting in my approach which means all feelings, even the uncomfortable ones, are welcome in my office.
I am trained in EMDR but also use components from CBT and ACT to help my clients work through difficult past events in their lives and change negative patterns of thinking.
During concert season, you can find me listening to music at various venues and I always have music playing in my car. Don’t be surprised if you see me around town singing to myself!
I am navigating the world of parenting with an adolescent boy and all the challenges that entails, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My two furry girls keep life interesting and snuggling with all of my babies is what gets me through some of the tough days.
Though my family and I have lived in the Wilmington area for 8 years, it definitely feels like home. I have extended roots in the Northeast, but have loved living on the coast of North Carolina so I can relate to locals and transplants alike.
My specialty is working with teens and adults who have experienced child abuse and neglect, sexual assault, and other attachment-related injuries. I am comfortable with most of the things that make other people uncomfortable, so you are welcome here!
I see individuals only. Older teens and all adults are my target population.
If you live in Wilmington or the surrounding area, we can meet in person. Otherwise, we can meet via telehealth as long as you’re anywhere in North Carolina.
I completed EMDR training through the EMDR Institute and am working toward certification.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in NC.
My clinical internship was completed at The Carousel Center, a child advocacy center located in Wilmington, NC.
I completed my Master’s Degree in
